Dewsbury Museum

Dedicated to the magical theme of childhood, Dewsbury Museum presents a child''s eye view of history.
Dewsbury Museum
Special features

* Steps to upper floors
* Working dogs accepted
* Disabled toilets
* Education packs available

At Dewsbury Museum you can experience things that have changed in the lives of children over the last century. In the ''Growing Up in Dewsbury'' exhibition, you can gaze through the windows of a 1940s classroom taking a trip back to school and war-torn Britain. There''s a ''Toys will be Toys'' gallery to discover the role of toys and play, where you''ll also discover why certain toys are collector''s items. There''s also a busy programme of temporary exhibitions and events. Dewsbury Museum is a must for anyone who''s ever been a child.

Access:
We regret that all parts of our museum sites are not yet fully accessible. Fire regulations mean that there are also restrictions on the use of prams and pushchairs indoors. Please contact the museum for further details and any other access information that will help you to plan your visit.
